are a Swedish black metal band founded in 1996 by Niklas Kvarforth. Closely associated with the emergence of “suicidal black metal,” they combine bleak, deeply personal songwriting with progressive rock, jazz, classical, and acoustic influences. Kvarforth’s wide-ranging vocals and confrontational approach remain central to a sound that continually stretches beyond traditional black metal.
