Temporary Suspension of Shipping to the USA
Due to a nationwide measure affecting all Portuguese postal services, we are currently unable to ship any goods to the United States. This includes vinyl records, books, merch, and all other physical products sold through our store.
Why this is happening?
CTT (Portugal’s national postal service) has temporarily suspended all shipments containing goods to the USA.
This measure was implemented following:

The suspension of the U.S. De Minimis regime, which previously allowed low-value goods to enter the country with simplified customs procedures.

As a result, CTT halted all postal services involving goods—including International Mail, Postal Parcels, and International Express—starting 26 August, 2025.

Although documents and gifts under 100 USD were initially exempt, airline carriers partnering with CTT have now imposed a complete embargo on transporting all types of goods, including gifts.

Because no air transport is currently available for parcels containing goods, CTT cannot operationally guarantee delivery, and therefore suspended all services involving merchandise as of 29 August.
At this moment, only documents can be shipped to the USA, and all goods already accepted by CTT are being returned to senders.
What this means for Mondo Negro customers?

We cannot ship any physical orders to the USA until CTT restores service.

All U.S. customers will temporarily see checkout disabled for U.S. destinations.

Any previous orders still with CTT will be returned to us by the carrier; we will contact affected customers individually once they arrive.
We will reopen USA shipping as soon as possible!
This suspension is completely outside of our control, and we truly regret the inconvenience.
CTT is actively working to resolve the situation with airline partners, and we hope for a solution as soon as possible.
As soon as shipping becomes available again:

We will immediately reopen USA shipping on our website.

All U.S. customers will receive an email notification so they can resume placing orders normally.
