Description
Zu are an Italian instrumental and experimental music band from Rome. They return with their new full-length album, 'Cortar Todo', released via Ipecac Recordings. Recorded in the countryside near Bologna during the summer of 2014, the album features a range of unique collaborators, including keyboardist Joey Karam (The Locust), Italian guitar virtuoso Stefano Pilia (known for his work with Mike Watt, David Grubbs, and Rokia Traore), and a field recording of an indigenous Shipibo medicine man captured by bassist Massimo during his travels in the Amazon.
Known for their innovative approach, Zu have previously toured with Mike Patton as part of the Zu/Patton Quartet, further cementing their reputation in the avant-garde music scene. 'Cortar Todo' is a testament to their relentless creativity, blending bold instrumentation with surprising elements to push the boundaries of experimental music.
