Human Impact 'Gone Dark'
Human Impact, the noise-rock alliance of Chris Spencer (Unsane), Jim Coleman (Cop Shoot Cop), Eric Cooper (Made Out of Babies), and Jon Syverson (Daughters), returns with their second album, 'Gone Dark', out October 4, 2024. Building on the jagged intensity of their 2020 self-titled debut and 2021’s 'EP01', 'Gone Dark' is a sharper, rawer evolution. It fuses taut grooves, brittle guitar shards, and dystopian clouds of sound into a powerful shout of defiance—a proclamation of resilience and resistance in the face of global turmoil.
Born during informal jam sessions in Austin’s garages and refined during their 2022 European tours, 'Gone Dark' captures the ferocity of Human Impact’s live performances. Co-produced by Andrew Schneider (Ken Mode, Cave In) at Cedar Creek Studio, the album unites the band’s signature chaos with newfound cohesion. “We’ve arrived at a place where we fully understand who we are as a band—focused and relentless,” says Spencer. With Cooper and Syverson solidifying the lineup, 'Gone Dark' delivers a bold, uncompromising statement, cementing Human Impact as a force at the forefront of noise-rock.
