Short, hostile, and stripped to the bone, 'Fiend' is a four-track EP from Galway’s Fiend, released in 2018 through Donor Records. Across just under six minutes, the band deliver a raw collision of hardcore punk, deathrock, and post-punk, driven by serrated guitar lines, urgent rhythms, and Suzi Coombs’ tense, confrontational vocals. The production keeps everything immediate and abrasive, giving the record the feel of a live room captured at full pressure.

"Fiend" opens with a compact burst of aggression, followed by the even tighter "Scum". "Lonely Boys" keeps the pace clipped and nervy, while "Voyeur" closes the EP without stretching the formula, maintaining the same sense of unease and economy. It is a deliberately concise record: four songs, no excess, and a sound that sits comfortably between hardcore directness and the darker, more angular character associated with deathrock and post-punk.
