Description

Formed in the rural haze of northwest Indiana, Cloakroom introduced themselves with 'Infinity', a debut EP that trades punk urgency for slow-burning sonic weight. Built around Doyle Martin’s aching vocals and shimmering guitar textures, the trio—rounded out by drummer Brian Busch and bassist Robert Merkof—crafts a sound that hovers between dreamlike melancholy and crushing heaviness. It's a deeply atmospheric first offering that blends emotional intimacy with tectonic power.

Rather than reflect the fast-paced backgrounds of its members, 'Infinity' unfolds patiently, drawing on influences as varied as 90s emo, shoegaze, stoner rock, and post-metal. Tracks build from delicate hums to massive walls of distortion, recalling the introspective heft of Pedro the Lion crossed with the density of Jesu. With 'Infinity', Cloakroom emerge fully formed—creating something deeply textured, emotionally raw, and entirely their own.
