Built from short, violent bursts rather than conventional song structures, 'Descending Flesh' stretches VVOVNDS’s instinct for minute-long eruptions into a full-length without dulling their impact. Released in 2015 through Hypertension Records, the album tears through hardcore, sludge, powerviolence, and noise with abrupt shifts between speed and suffocating weight. Most tracks disappear almost as quickly as they arrive, leaving behind feedback, distorted riffs, and raw vocals before the next attack begins.

The record becomes more interesting when that formula starts to fracture. "The Light" slows everything into a bleak, doomy passage, while "Falling Back" and closing track "Peine Forte" give the band more room to explore tension and atmosphere. Elsewhere, "Coins", "Equality In Death", and "The Whip" push the harsher, faster side toward blackened hardcore and grind-like chaos. Rather than simply extending their earlier material, 'Descending Flesh' uses contrast to make its violence feel sharper: frantic one moment, oppressive the next, but consistently raw and confrontational.
