Stark, immersive, and deeply atmospheric, 'LP.8' finds Kelly Lee Owens stepping away from the dancefloor to explore a more abstract and confrontational side of her electronic music. Created in Oslo with experimental noise artist Lasse Marhaug during the pandemic, the album emerged from the collision of two contrasting inspirations: the industrial abrasion of Throbbing Gristle and the ethereal mysticism of Enya. The result moves constantly between beauty and unease, pairing metallic textures and distorted electronics with meditative vocals and vast expanses of space.

Across nine compositions, Owens embraces repetition, tension, and restraint rather than conventional song structures. "Release" and "Voice" establish the record’s ritualistic intensity, while the sprawling "Anadlu" drifts through hypnotic drones and spectral vocal layers. "Nana Piano" introduces fragile melodic warmth before "Quickening" returns to harsher terrain, and "Sonic 8" closes the album in an enveloping haze. Both intimate and imposing, 'LP.8' captures Owens pushing her sound toward industrial experimentation, ambient minimalism, and deeply physical sonic abstraction.
