Twenty-two minutes are enough for Torch Runner to turn speed, groove, and sheer abrasion into a remarkably dynamic assault on 'Endless Nothing'. Released in 2014 through Southern Lord and recorded by Kris Hilbert at Legitimate Business, the North Carolina trio fuse grindcore blasts with hardcore aggression, crust abrasion, and sudden stretches of downbeat heaviness. The record rarely settles into one tempo: frantic bursts repeatedly collapse into thick grooves, feedback, and slower passages, giving the violence a sense of tension rather than relying on speed alone.

"Attrition" immediately establishes that push and pull, while "Bound By Misery", "Circuition", and "Wordless" compress the attack into short, explosive forms. "Godlust" and "Rebirth" allow heavier riffs to breathe between the blasts, and the four-minute "Circle of Shit" drags the album into its slowest, most oppressive territory. Even the sub-minute title track and "All We Have" retain that contrast between chaos and physical groove. 'Endless Nothing' captures Torch Runner refining the metallic grind of their debut into something tighter, dirtier, and more punishing without sacrificing hardcore immediacy.
