The first official concerts organized by Mondo Negro are finally here — and we want you to be part of this beginning.
For the very first time in Portugal, Bleakness (France) bring their visceral post-punk, a perfect balance between the melancholy of 80s goth and the abrasive urgency of modern hardcore. The band has been carving out a place as one of the most intense acts of Europe’s new wave, earning a spot as the opening act on the most recent Refused tour — a clear testament to the trio’s force and presence on stage. Raw energy, shadowed melody, and constant emotional tension make Bleakness the ideal band to open this new chapter for Mondo Negro.
In Porto, on December 7 at Barracuda Clube de Roque, the night opens with Demente — a band from Arco de Baulhe revived nearly two decades after their original project. What they bring today preserves that original irreverence: distorted rock, eclectic approaches, acidic humor, and a tight, angular presence that at times echoes the nervy dryness of bands like Institute, while always retaining their very own DNA. After the live sets, the room is handed over to Laika & Thormentor, ensuring the night doesn’t slow down.

The following day, Lisbon welcomes Bleakness at Vortex Associação, with support from Floating Ashes — a Lisbon-based project working within darkwave and synthwave with a heavy emphasis on atmosphere. Layers of dense synthesizers, minimalist rhythms, and melancholic melodies create a sense of electric fog, somewhere between ritual and cinema. It’s an immersive, hypnotic entrance perfectly suited before the post-punk impact of Bleakness.

These two concerts mark the beginning of something new for us — and we sincerely hope to see you there. Your presence and your support in helping spread the word will make all the difference as Mondo Negro enters this next stage. Share it, bring friends, and let’s build this together.
