Thormenthor

is a Portuguese progressive death metal band formed in Almada in 1987. Emerging from the first wave of extreme metal in Portugal, they combined technical musicianship, atmospheric passages, and progressive songwriting with death metal aggression. Their 1994 album 'Abstract Divinity' became a landmark release in Portuguese metal, and the band has returned periodically for select live performances.
