This Mortal Coil

was a British musical collective led by 4AD founder Ivo Watts-Russell, active from 1983 to 1991. Known for its ethereal soundscapes, orchestral arrangements, and dreamlike reinterpretations of classic songs, the project featured members of Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, and other 4AD acts. Their work blends ambient, gothic, and neoclassical elements into haunting, atmospheric compositions.
