Description
Returning with their second collaborative full-length, Uniform & The Body push their unholy alliance further into extremes on ‘Everything That Dies Someday Comes Back’. Building on the foundation of their first joint record, the duo of duos conjure a sound that fuses industrial abrasion, harsh noise, metallic riffing, and electronic beats with moments of surprising melodic clarity. Recorded with Seth Manchester at Machines With Magnets, the sessions drew on influences as disparate as Swans, Ministry, Whitehouse, and even New Order, resulting in music that oscillates between pure confrontation and bleak beauty. The title itself, lifted from Bruce Springsteen’s 'Nebraska', underscores the record’s meditation on loss, grief, and the impossibility of closure.
The nine tracks burn with intensity, combining manipulated guitars, noise squalls, synth-driven dirges, and vocals that shift from Michael Berdan’s antagonistic delivery to Chip King’s harrowing wail. Songs like “Penance” and “Day of Atonement” embody the project’s unrelenting aggression, while “Patron Saint of Regret” and “Waiting for the End of the World” channel a tortured emotionality beneath the chaos. By balancing terror and fleeting transcendence, ‘Everything That Dies Someday Comes Back’ cements Uniform & The Body as one of the most vital collaborations in heavy experimental music.
