Description
Fuzz, melody, and punk energy meet head-on across 'All Love is True Love', the 2018 debut album from The Primals. Formed by John Henry of Darkest Hour, Chad Fjerstad of Dead To Fall, and Andrew Black of The Explosion, the Los Angeles trio deliberately step away from their heavier pasts in favour of distorted guitars, huge hooks, and a strong 1990s alternative-rock pull. Produced by John Reis, the record channels the rough melodic edge of Nirvana and Pixies alongside power-pop immediacy and traces of garage punk.
"Another World to Call Your Own" drives forward with bright, urgent melody, while "Pity City" slows into something more spacious and openly pop-minded. "Fortune & Sons" brings a dirtier punk ’n’ roll attack, and "It's Personal" pushes heavier without losing its hooks. By "Save Me, Baby" and "I'm Coming Home", the record moves between melancholy, grunge weight, and full-bodied choruses with ease. Rather than sounding like a side project from metal musicians, 'All Love is True Love' feels fully committed to fuzzed-out, melodic rock built around immediacy and personality.
