Goat use 'Headsoup' to map the many paths their music has taken, gathering singles, B-sides, alternate versions, digital edits, and two new tracks into a career-spanning compilation. The sequence moves from the fuzz-heavy drive of “The Sun And Moon” to the more spacious, meditative alternate take “Union Of Mind And Soul,” tracing a sound that shifts without losing its hypnotic pulse. Flute, drones, and swirling guitar sit alongside dense percussion and thick, distorted riffs, making each turn feel part of the same restless journey. Each piece opens another door in Goat’s maze.

Across the collection, psychedelic rock meets Afrobeat rhythms, desert blues, and Ethio-jazz, with funk and experimental detours expanding the picture further. “Fill My Mouth” brings a scuzzy, danceable psych-funk groove, while “Queen Of The Underground” closes with a heavy, swaggering charge. The rarities feel less like loose ends than glimpses into Goat’s evolving world: sometimes ominous and weighty, elsewhere bright, melodic, and almost serene. 'Headsoup' is an unpredictable portrait of a collective that draws on far-reaching influences while keeping its own sound unmistakable. Its contrasts keep the compilation lively from start to finish.
