Description
Eclectic and deliberately off-center, '"V" Is for Vagina' introduced Puscifer as a project where experimentation, satire, and atmosphere moved freely across genre boundaries. Released in 2007, the debut album gave Maynard James Keenan space to explore ideas that felt more playful and unconventional than his other work, blending alternative rock, electronic textures, and downtempo rhythms into a sound that was both intimate and unpredictable. The result unfolded like a series of shifting moods, balancing humor, unease, and introspection.
Across the album, Puscifer moved between hypnotic grooves and darker, more reflective passages with a cinematic sense of pacing. “Queen B” and “Vagina Mine” leaned into the project’s irreverent side, while “Momma Sed” and both versions of “The Undertaker” revealed a more restrained and atmospheric core. Tracks like “Trekka” and “Indigo Children” expanded the sonic palette with subtle electronic details and rhythmic experimentation. '"V" Is for Vagina' stood as a bold and distinctive debut, where curiosity and controlled eccentricity shaped a cohesive and immersive listening experience.
