Description
Restless, confrontational, and darkly playful, 'Important People' finds Democrash sharpening their singular blend of post-punk tension, art-rock eccentricity, and krautrock repetition. Released in 2025 through Raging Planet and Vinil Experience, the album turns its attention toward identity, status, technology, and contemporary alienation, examining a world shaped by algorithms, distraction, and manufactured relevance. Guitars, electronics, saxophone, flute, and an elastic rhythm section give the songs a deliberately unstable character, constantly shifting between angular attack and hypnotic momentum.
"The Concept Of Clothing" opens with a wiry, sax-driven pulse, while "I Hate What I" introduces flashes of rockabilly before collapsing back into the band's stranger vocabulary. The title track questions social importance and validation, and "Hacked" pushes the album's dystopian concerns toward technology, memory, and loss of control. Elsewhere, shorter pieces like "Tourists" sit alongside the more expansive "Love Is Not Forever" and "No Ground Control". 'Important People' captures Democrash embracing contradiction: abrasive yet melodic, absurd yet politically alert, and permanently resistant to settling into one recognisable shape.
