Driven by minimal groovebox beats, blunt bass lines and bursts of guitar, Peaches’ 'The Teaches of Peaches' is a raw, playful collision of electronic music, punk and dance. Her dry, half-rapped delivery gives the songs a confrontational edge, while the arrangements keep their pulse spare and physical. “Fuck the Pain Away” sets the tone with a provocative hook and stripped-back beat; “AA XXX” and “Cum Undun” keep her frank, sexually explicit humor at the center. The album’s audacity comes from Peaches treating desire as both subject and source of power, with wit and swagger rather than coyness.

That attitude carries through the record’s mix of club pulse and punk attitude. “Rock Show” and “Sucker” bring guitar riffs into the groovebox-driven sound, while “Set It Off” leans into a more danceable pulse. Elsewhere, insistent electro beats give way to slower, hypnotic passages, with minimal arrangements making repetition part of the album’s character. Across eleven tracks, 'The Teaches of Peaches' blurs the boundary between club music and punk performance, pairing catchy, physical rhythms with lyrics that challenge conventional expectations around sexuality and gender. Its rough-edged, DIY sound helped establish Peaches as a singular voice in the early electroclash moment.
