Uniform 'Shame'
What if the antihero in your favorite story had no chance for redemption, and instead, wandered in a cycle of existential despair? Uniform explores this bleak narrative on their fourth album 'Shame'. The trio—Michael Berdan (vocals), Ben Greenberg (guitar, production), and Mike Sharp (drums)—deliver a harsh soundscape of distorted guitars, warped electronics, and relentless percussion. Drawing inspiration from noir fiction and internal battles, the album reflects themes of fear, futility, and personal reflection.
Uniform's rise began with 'Perfect World' (2015) and 'Wake in Fright' (2017), with 'The Long Walk' (2018) hailed by Pitchfork as their “most unified and deranged” album. Collaborating with The Body on two albums and touring with bands like Deafheaven and Boris, they cemented their position in the underground music scene. 'Shame' pushes their sound even further, adding live drums and enhanced production, with Randall Dunn handling the mix. The result is a raw and powerful exploration of inner turmoil, fear, and self-doubt, wrapped in the band's signature aggressive, industrial sound.
