Nabihah Iqbal returns with 'DREAMER', her long-awaited new album, released on 28th April 2023 via Ninja Tune. Five years after her acclaimed debut 'Weighing of the Heart', this project is her most raw and reflective work to date. Crafted over two years, it arrives at a pivotal time in her career, blending deeply personal experiences with her signature sound, further expanding her artistic range while maintaining her introspective edge.

In early 2020, a devastating burglary wiped out all of Nabihah’s recorded material, including her long-awaited second album. Already dealing with burnout and a broken hand, she traveled to Pakistan to be with her family after her grandfather’s health deteriorated. In this unexpected time away, she reconnected with her love for music, adopting a more organic, acoustic approach and allowing ideas to develop away from technology, rediscovering the core of her creativity.

'DREAMER' is an introspective exploration of personal identity, loss, and resilience. Nabihah weaves her lo-fi, left-field aesthetic throughout the album, blending melancholy with glimmers of hope. Recorded during residencies in Scotland and Suffolk, the project signals a creative evolution, layering new textures and emotional depth while continuing to explore the delicate balance between introspection and artistic expression.
