High Vis 'Guided Tour'
Since forming in 2016, London’s High Vis has crafted a unique sound that melds progressive hardcore with elements of post-punk, Britpop, and Madchester groove. Their third album, 'Guided Tour', captures this blend of styles, balancing both rage and optimism. Vocalist Graham Sayle describes the record as a fusion of hope and anger, reflecting their roots in the UK and Irish DIY hardcore scenes. Driven by restlessness, the album is meant as an escape from the struggles of daily life.
Recorded at London’s Holy Mountain Studios with producer Jonah Falco, 'Guided Tour' embodies High Vis’s dynamic vision and discipline, channeling energy into each track. The album spans styles from street punk anthems ("Drop Me Out," "Mob DLA") to jangling indie rock ("Worth The Wait," "Deserve It") and shoegazey spoken word ("Untethered"). This diversity peaks in the dance-punk track "Mind’s A Lie," inspired by house and pirate radio, where guest vocalist Ell Murphy’s soaring voice combines with low-slung bass, tense drums, and chiming guitars, transporting listeners from gritty streets to something transcendent.
