Departing from the orchestrated bombast of their earlier works, the album is a haunting meditation on death, isolation, and healing, composed during a period of personal grief and seclusion in Astoria, Oregon. Stripped down yet expansive, it reflects the intense connection forged between Robinson and Shaw as they processed loss and renewal.
