Public Memory 'Ripped Apparition'
Since 2016, Public Memory has been creating lo-fi electronica that explores the darker corners of the human psyche. The project, led by Robert Toher, combines gritty atmospherics, damaged synthesizers, and unearthly vocals with a mix of electronic and organic percussion. This blend results in a striking contrast between power and vulnerability, enveloped in shadowy production and emotive, haunting singing.
Their latest album, 'Ripped Apparition', deepens these themes, presenting a soundscape that feels both dreamlike and nightmarish. Filtered through a narcotic haze, the album evokes a degraded past and future existing at once, saturated with loss and uncertainty. Time becomes distorted, offering no escape—only the unrelenting present, cloaked in psychic fog, as Public Memory weaves a hypnotic narrative of dreams and fantasies unraveling.
