Originally composed for the immersive dance performance "The Sun Still Burns Here", 'Ugly Season' showcases Perfume Genius at his most experimental and transportive. Created in collaboration with choreographer Kate Wallich and producer Blake Mills, the album unfolds like a physical ritual—fluid, sensory, and emotionally unbound. These compositions were born from movement and built to embody it, inviting listeners into a space where music and the body dissolve into one.

Across its sweeping, genre-defying soundscape, 'Ugly Season' veers between ecstatic, ambient textures and haunting minimalism.
