The soundtrack to the Netflix original movie, '1922', is based on the Stephen King novella. The film tells the story of a man's confession to murdering his wife, Arlette, with the help of their son in Nebraska. Told from the perspective of Wilfred James, an unreliable narrator, the tale unravels as Wilfred is terrorized by rats and haunted by the belief that his wife’s ghost is seeking revenge.

Mike Patton (Faith No More, Tomahawk, Fantomas, Peeping Tom) composed the score, which includes music from the film and expanded tracks not included in the final cut. Heavily orchestral with somber, funereal strings, the score features distinctly Pattonian touches, such as bursts of jarring dissonance and eerie, skittering percussion. Previously, Patton scored 'The Place Beyond the Pines' and 'Crank: High Voltage'.
