Description
CONJURA’s second conjuration is a split release bringing together the storm-laden, tectonic drone of Barreiro’s CAVERNANCIA with the sculptural spatialisations of Porto-based Ricardo Nogueira Fernandes — an edition that’s striking for its rare ability to tell two sides of the same story, something few splits ever truly manage.
On side A, “Volátil” by CAVERNANCIA drops us straight into the heart of the storm; we ignored the warnings and chose to experience the event with our body. The approach is a mounting tension, pressure closing in, the magnetic field locking us in place as we watch the ground turn to sky and sweep overhead.
On side B, “Carrazedo”, following on from the remarkable 2023 album 'Vandoma', Ricardo Nogueira Fernandes shows us the storm from a distance. This time, we heeded the warnings and remain at the observer’s remove; we measure, take notes, listen closely to every detail of a world in convulsive suspension — one we will soon no longer recognise.
