The Body was founded in 1999 by drummer Lee Buford and guitarist/vocalist Chip King in Fayetteville, AR. After relocating to Providence in 2004, they released their debut album, solidifying their reputation as one of the most experimental forces in heavy music. In 2012, they moved to Portland, OR, and continued to push boundaries, both as a duo and in collaboration with artists like Thou, Full of Hell, Uniform, Lingua Ignota, and The Haxan Cloak. Their innovative style blends crushing heaviness with experimental, avant-garde elements, challenging the conventions of heavy music.

To celebrate their 20th anniversary, The Body released 'Remixed', a special limited double LP featuring reimagined versions of their tracks by artists such as Moor Mother, Peter Rehberg, and Lingua Ignota. The release underscored their love for collaboration and included a deluxe poster cataloging nearly 100 shirt designs from their career. Their relentless creativity and willingness to experiment have cemented them as pioneers in the heavy music world.
