Bass Drum of Death 'Rip This'

John Barrett returns with his second full-length for LA label Innovative Leisure as Bass Drum of Death. 'Rip This' marks the band's most impressive effort yet, blending raw garage rock with the best of the American underground. Since his debut 7-inch on Fat Possum in 2008, Barrett has pushed beyond his Oxford, Mississippi roots, collaborating with Odd Future’s MellowHype and landing a spot on GTA V’s Vinewood Boulevard radio station.

With 'Rip This', Barrett takes a new approach. Unlike previous albums, which he wrote and recorded solo on GarageBand, this time he enlisted drummer Len Clark and producer Jacob Portrait (UMO). Over two weeks at Prairie Sun Studios in California, the trio crafted Bass Drum of Death’s first true studio album, refining their gritty sound into something more powerful than ever.
