HEADS. 'HEADS.'
HEADS. formed in 2014, uniting two native Germans and one Australian with a shared affinity for raw, unfiltered music. Drawing influence from The Jesus Lizard, Shellac, and Young Widows, they forged a sound that was both direct and uncompromising. Vocalist/guitarist Ed Fraser, fresh from Australia, connected with The Ocean’s bassist Chris Breuer, who enlisted Hamburg-based drummer Peter Voigtmann to complete the trio.
Navigating geographical distances, HEADS. wrote much of their debut album remotely, utilizing festival backstage Wi-Fi and meeting for intense rehearsals in Berlin. They recorded in September 2014 at Bikini Test in the Swiss Alps, capturing their dark intensity live. Produced by Jonathon Nido of Coilguns, the session yielded 13 tracks in three days, including a guest feature from Louis Jucker, with six selected for their debut release.
