Sunn O))) '3: Flight of the Behemoth'
Sunn O)))'s '3: Flight of the Behemoth' is the band’s third album, featuring collaborations with legendary Japanese noise artist Merzbow, who mixed tracks 3 and 4. This release marked several firsts for the band, including the use of a drum machine on “F.W.T.B.T.,” a deconstructive take on Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” and the debut of vocals performed by the band themselves.
Previously available only in limited vinyl pressings, this deluxe edition is released through Southern Lord Recordings. It includes a full-color 24”x36” folded poster, a vinyl-only bonus track, “Grimm & Bear It,” and a stunning case-wrapped gatefold jacket. The vinyl, cut by Matt Colton (Alchemy Mastering), mirrors the precision of Sunn O)))’s 2019 releases, 'Life Metal' and 'Pyroclasts'.
