Released in 2014, Knocked Loose’s debut EP, 'Pop Culture', captures the starting point of the band. The five-piece lineup—vocalist Bryan Garris, guitarists Isaac Hale and Cole Crutchfield, bassist Kevin Otten, and drummer Pac Sun—delivers a set rooted in hardcore, punk, and metal. Abrasive guitar riffs, forceful vocals, and punishing rhythms drive the songs, while sharp shifts keep the energy volatile. The rough, unpolished performance suits the EP’s character, giving each burst of aggression an immediate impact.

The release marks the beginning of Knocked Loose’s rise from a local band to an internationally touring force. Its short songs establish a sound that balances hardcore intensity with metal weight. The compact arrangements keep the music focused and physical, while the raw performance preserves the sense of a young band finding its voice. 'Pop Culture' remains a concise introduction to their earliest style and a document of where it all began, while retaining its rough-edged urgency.
