Gnaw Their Tongues 'Hymns for the Broken, Swollen And Silent'

After the 2012 release of 'Per Flagellum Sanguemque, Tenebras Veneramus' on double 10” vinyl, the Dutch master of all things nightmare Gnaw Their Tongues returned to Consouling Sounds for the vinyl release of their new offering, 'Hymns for the Broken, Swollen And Silent'. This album showcased Gnaw Their Tongues at the height of their craft. Originally a studio project, the band recently began performing live, a development subtly reflected in the music.

Oppressive, bleak, and claustrophobic remain the defining traits of this drone/noise/black metal-infused miscreant created by Mories. The album’s suffocating intensity grabs you by the throat and consumes the air from the room. Despite this suffocating atmosphere, the music breathes and evolves, growing into a monstrous and organic masterpiece that cements the band’s dark legacy.
