Wardruna 'Kvitravn'
Wardruna masterfully continues their mission to explore and integrate ancient thoughts, tools, and methods into something relevant for the modern era. After an intensive studio period, 'Kvitravn' musically picks up where the 'Runaljod' trilogy left off, while marking a distinct evolution in their sound. The album weaves a rich tapestry of traditional and historical instruments, including Kravik-lyre, Trossingen-lyre, Taglharpa, and Langeleik.
Wardruna also features guest contributions from prominent traditional singers, led by Kirsten Bråten Berg, a key figure in preserving Norwegian traditional song. Across eleven tracks, 'Kvitravn' delves into themes of Northern sorcery, spirit animals, shadows, animism, myths, Norse spiritual concepts, and the deep connection between sages and songs, creating a profound and immersive listening experience.
