Description
Released on April 30 via Regulator Records, 'sete fontes' presents Homem em Catarse at his most delicate and introspective. The solo project of Afonso Dorido, founding member of Portuguese post-rock collective indignu, here shifts focus entirely to piano compositions, interwoven with subtle electronics and field recordings. Conceived during lockdown under the artistic residency program Trabalho da Casa promoted by gnration, the album reflects a profound dialogue with territory and memory, inspired by the landscapes and atmosphere of Braga. The result is a work of ethereal fragility, imbued with both solitude and warmth.
Following earlier releases such as 'Guarda-Rios', 'Viagem Interior', and 'sem palavras | cem palavras', Dorido continues his exploration of music as storytelling, this time through wordless narratives carried by sparse piano lines and evocative textures. 'sete fontes' captures the resonance of stillness and the quiet power of reflection, drawing comparisons to the cinematic works of Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hans Zimmer, and Clint Mansell. More than an instrumental album, it is a meditation on place, time, and the possibility of healing through sound.
