Conceived during a solitary 2021 retreat in the fog-drenched coastal town of Yachats, Oregon, Deb Demure immersed themselves in early-morning rain hikes and long, meditative sessions with a uniquely resonant 12-string Ovation acoustic/electric guitar. These ambient explorations—rooted in flow states and unguarded experimentation—formed the backbone of the EP, later shaped into luminous, hypnotic compositions. The result is a body of work suspended between dream and dissolution, capturing Drab Majesty in a rare moment of becoming rather than arrival.

Building upon these foundations, the EP opens its universe further through key collaborations that subtly expand its emotional and sonic depth. Rachel Goswell’s haunting presence on “Vanity,” Justin Meldal-Johnsen’s refined sensibilities, and Ben Greenberg’s textural interventions all enhance the EP’s shimmering, windswept atmosphere.
