Prisão live in Portugal – February 13 & 14

Prisão live in Portugal – February 13 & 14

After the launch of Mondo Negro’s concert series, we keep moving forward.

This February, we present Prisão in Portugal for the very first time. Formed in Stockholm but deeply rooted in both Swedish and Brazilian underground traditions, Prisão deliver fast, raw, and aggressive hardcore punk, shouted in Portuguese and driven by an uncompromising DIY ethic. Their songs are short, direct, and confrontational — no metaphors, no excess, just straight facts.

Built from members of Vidro, Axe Rash, Warchild, and Nitad, Prisão have quickly established themselves as one of the most intense hardcore punk acts of the moment. Their EP was described by Maximum Rocknroll as “a short, violent blast of hardcore punk — raw, direct, and uncompromising,” and that same intensity defines their live shows: high-energy, focused, and over before you have time to recover.

The Lisbon show takes place at Casa Capitão and opens with Overcrooks, a Lisbon-based skate rock band made by skaters for skaters — and for anyone who loves energetic, positive, and aggressive punk. Fast-paced beats and a classic punk attitude define their sound, with clear influences from Dag Nasty, Suicidal Tendencies, Circle Jerks, and Youth Brigade.

The following day, Prisão head to Porto as part of the second edition of Chinfrim Lab, in collaboration with Mondo Negro. This night brings together three different approaches to volume, friction, and sonic density.

Also on the bill: Somatic Anxiety, a hybrid of primitive black metal and punk DNA, drawing inspiration from 'Death Church'-era Rudimentary Peni. Their debut EP 'Glass Prison' explores themes of social identity and patriarchal oppression, and they have previously shared stages with bands such as Bad Breeding and Poison Ruin.

Ego Death Cvlt, a ritualistic exploration of electronic instruments, synthesizers, and samplers. Abrasive rhythms, hypnotic drones, and intuitive improvisation form an intense, immersive live experience designed to push density to its limits.

These two concerts continue the next chapter of Mondo Negro as a concert promoter, now also working alongside other DIY-driven collectives who share the same values and commitment to independent music.

We hope to see you in Lisbon, in Porto — or at both.
